A change is as good as a rest...

In fact, at The Old Rectory it is a rest, and a chance to live life at a more relaxed pace. But however long you plan to visit, once you have experienced the warm and welcoming environment, we’re confident that you’ll want to return.

Just passing through

Whether you are looking for a short break in peaceful surroundings, need a little extra help to recuperate from a recent spell of ill health, or simply wish to sample our high standards of care for yourself, time spent at The Old Rectory is perfectly suited for ‘recharging the batteries’ and getting you back on your feet.

Accommodation options start from just one week, at which time we will be delighted to share with you all the benefits of the extra care and attention you will receive during a stay with us. And by working closely with our sister facility The Clavadel, we are able to put their excellent physiotherapy and hydrotherapy services at your disposal so you can relax, enjoy our beautiful grounds, and leave your worries at the door.

A list of items you will need to bring with you can be found here.

Make yourself at home

You may be staying with us for an extended period, or perhaps have already decided to take up residency. If so, then “welcome” ─ we’re sure you are going to be very happy at The Old Rectory, and our staff are ready and waiting to assist you in any way they can.

All of our bedrooms are fully furnished and feature an en suite toilet, wash basin, profile bed, TV and complimentary WiFi, with separate shower and bath facilities.

When staying anywhere long-term, it is important to feel content in your surroundings. Therefore, whilst our rooms are fully furnished, you may wish to consider bringing items of your own furniture ─ or perhaps some familiar personal belongings, such as pictures or ornaments ─ that will help with settling in and making you feel ‘at home’.

Welcoming your guests

We hope that your friends and relatives will visit The Old Rectory and experience the unique and welcoming atmosphere to be found here. Light refreshments of coffee and tea are always available, and visitors may join you for lunch or supper on request for a nominal fee.

However, whilst visitors are always welcome, we would respectfully request they arrive after 10.30am where possible in order to preserve the daily routines of our residents. And should there be a need to visit outside normal hours, simply contact a senior member of staff who will be happy to assist. Thank you for your consideration.

Thank you for inviting us all to your wonderful Guy Fawkes evening – The fireworks were beautiful especially the ones that looked like a fountain. The supper was delicious also.

Mrs Sherman

Thank you to everyone at The Old Rectory for the care you gave to Mother. She was comfortable due to the dedication shown by all staff. She was treated with dignity and warmth by everyone. We are extremely grateful, thank you again.

The Dineens

The food was excellent and my stay really helped to get me back on my feet again, so thank you to all your care staff and everybody else concerned.
