You will be fully assessed in advance to ensure everything is in order prior to your first day with us.

You are then free to arrive at a time of your convenience without need for further worry. Although, we have found mid-morning around 11.30am, or mid-afternoon around 2.30pm are ideal times to check and ease gently into the new environment.

All our rooms are fully furnished and feature en suite toilets and wash basins, whilst showers and bathrooms are separate. However, you are welcome to bring pieces of your own furniture ─ or other personal possessions such as pictures or ornaments ─ to help make you feel at home.

In addition, there is a profile bed, television set, WiFi connection, and ample charger points for electronic devices. You will also have your own private telephone, to which any incoming calls will be transferred by our receptionist.

Absolutely; we have a comprehensive range of specialist equipment, including: walking frames, wheelchairs, specialist mattresses, and pressure cushions, all of which are all included as part of your stay with us.

In addition, our high staff-to-resident ratio ensures there is always someone on hand to assist with washing, dressing and personal care, when required.

The well-being of those in our care is our prime concern at all times. Our dedicated team of experienced carers are NVQ qualified in health and social care, under the close supervision of our Clinical Lead Emma.. They are further supported by twice-weekly visits from a local GP, who will address individual medical concerns, backed up by an out-of-hours service.

Our staff are on duty 24 hours a day. During the night, carers undertake hourly non-intrusive checks on residents and will also respond to call bells in rooms − something we encourage under all circumstances, as this helps us to keep residents safe.

Whether you need help getting out of bed, assistance with visiting the lavatory, or simply require a cup of tea, a helping hand is never far away.

Physiotherapy takes place at The Old Hall on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Following an initial 45-minute assessment, a programme of 30-minute sessions can be put in place. And should a need for extra sessions be indicated, these are available by arrangement.

Yes; residents can take part in any, or all, of the full and varied programme of activities taking place on a daily basis throughout the year. There is something to appeal to all tastes, including: popular documentary screenings, ‘knit and natter’ afternoons, crosswords and quizzes, bingo, carpet bowls, craft sessions, and even Tai Chi, to name but a few.

There are also visits to places of interest or trips to the seaside, and we often welcome local community groups, such as Send Over 60s’ Club, to join us in the shade of our willow tree or to partake in annual events, such as Bonfire Night.

We always do our utmost to ensure our residents’ happiness, and mealtimes are fundamental to that.

There are three meals a day, all of which are covered by our inclusive accommodation price. Breakfast is served in your room between 8 and 9am, whilst lunch is served in the Dining Room from 1pm. And, from 6pm, residents can opt to have supper in their rooms or in the Dining Room.

Our highly experienced catering team make meals a highlight of the day. Just let us know in advance of any allergy concerns, dietary needs, or particular ‘likes’ and ‘dislikes’ and we will do our utmost to accommodate you.

Bring all the things you will need to make your stay a familiar and comfortable one. However, you will need to pack certain essentials, such as nightwear, toothbrush, dressing gown, etc. A comprehensive list can be found here:  What should I pack?

Please note, it is not necessary to bring towels or bed linen as your room will be provided with these.

Of course; this is your home, and as such, visitors are always welcome. However, it is a good idea for visitors to avoid busier times such as early morning or at mealtimes, although visitors may join you for lunch or supper by prior arrangement, for a nominal fee.

Calling ahead to establish whether a resident is at home is also recommended to avoid disappointment, as excursions may be planned for the day.

You are welcome to remain with us for as long as you choose, subject to room availability. There is, however, a minimum charge of £1,540 enabling a stay of up to seven days / six nights, after which we will be happy to check availability with a view to extending your stay.

Yes; we can arrange private transport on request, at which time a carer can be made available to accompany you at an additional cost, should you so require.
