It is a 36 bedded home providing nursing, convalescence, palliative care and respite for elderly residents.

We are looking for enthusiastic and committed care assistant to join our excellent team to assist in providing the highest quality service at all times. Under the guidance of a Registered Nurse you will assist residents with personal care and their physical and emotional well being.

We are looking for enthusiastic and committed housekeeping assistant to join our excellent team to assist in providing the highest quality service at all times.

Under the guidance of the Housekeeping Manager, you will assist in keeping the home clean for our residents on a daily basis. The shifts would be full time Monday to Friday 8am – 4pm or part time 9am – 2pm.

Main duties and responsibilities

We want to achieve the highest possible standard of care throughout the home. As an RGN, you will be leading the shift, providing effective supervision and management of care staff with the aim of providing our Residents with high quality, person centred care. As part of your role you may be expected to carry out drug rounds in the Home and will be responsible for maintaining accurate care records. You will be monitoring the Residents and responding to any clinical concerns raised by staff or the Residents themselves. In addition, you will work alongside our non-clinical teams to ensure that the Residents get the best experience throughout the day or night.

Essential skills, qualifications and experience:

Qualified RGN / RMN with current PIN.

Understanding of the latest nursing practices.

Desired skills, qualifications and experience:

 

Experience of working in a nursing home

Knowledge of the statutory CQC requirements associated with care.

Excellent communication both written and verbal.

Good time management skills.

A strong customer focus.

A flexible approach to working hours.

This is an opportunity to work on a Saturday night shift, which runs from 8pm to 8am. You may be in a position where you cannot take on a full time role due to other commitments, but are able to work one shift a week. The full 12 hours will be paid at an enhanced rate. Additional shifts are also available.

The Clavadel

We believe that investing in staff leads to high quality clinical care. We have an experienced nursing team including high quality care staff with a shared vision. We work closely with the physiotherapy team and General Practitioners to ensure a multidisciplinary approach to managing patients safely whilst in our care.

The Clavadel is a unique 32 bedded purpose built unit which delivers highly specialised care to post-operative patients. Patients come to us from all over the country once discharged from hospital to continue their recovery in a safe and comforting environment. Patients are here short term for a period of intensive rehabilitation which includes hydrotherapy. The unit offers 24 hour nursing care, physiotherapy and general practitioner support to ensure patients are able to achieve optimal independence to return home confidently.

As a registered nurse in our organisation we are committed to your professional development and will ensure a supernumerary induction to ensure you are supported during the transition to your new role. The role will involve wound management, drug administration, venepuncture and admission and discharge of patients. Leadership of a shift is essential and the ability to recognise a deteriorating patient that requires medical intervention. We have developed close working relationships with consultant surgeons to ensure patients receive the care they need.

The successful candidate will be expected to be able to cover day and night shifts. Typical shift patterns will include 08.00 – 14.00, 13.00 – 20.00, 08.00-20.00 and occasional night cover – 20.00-08.00
