Full time RGN required for Private Nursing Home in Ewhurst, Cranleigh.

Salary:

£16.50 + per hour depending on experience with enhanced rates of pay at weekends and on bank holidays.

The Old Rectory is a well-established family run nursing home in the heart of Ewhurst Village in Cranleigh. It is a 32 bedded home providing nursing, convalescence, palliative care and respite for elderly residents.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed RGN to join our excellent team to assist in providing the highest quality service at all times. Shift pattern runs from 8 – 4.30pm or 1.30pm – 8pm.

Purpose and summary of Position:

To achieve the highest possible standard of care throughout the home. Effective supervision of care staff, working within a team to deliver needs based care. To encourage and promote openness and a learning environment for all staff. To be a lead figure on shift in the provision of quality care to residents by all care team staff.

To do this job effectively a candidate will need some essential qualifications highlighted in bold and be able to demonstrate skills in the other subsections.

A relevant nursing qualification

Valid NMC pin number

Accredited training/courses

A proven clinical track record.

Understanding of the latest nursing practices.

Knowledge of the statutory CQC requirements associated with care.

Excellent communication both written and verbal.

Good time management skills.

A strong customer focus.

A flexible approach to working hours.

Night-time Registered Nurse – The Geoghegan Group

Night-time Registered Nurse required for Private Nursing Home in Ewhurst, Cranleigh.

Salary: £16.50 per hour + depending on experience with enhanced rates of pay at weekends and on bank holidays

The Old Rectory is a well-established family run nursing home in the heart of Ewhurst Village in Cranleigh. It is a 32 bedded home providing nursing, convalescence, palliative care and respite for elderly residents.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Night RGN to join our excellent team to assist in providing the highest quality service at all times. This would be two 12 hour shifts. The shift pattern runs from 8pm to 8am with the assistance of two carers.

Main duties and responsibilities

To achieve the highest possible standard of care throughout the home. Effective supervision and management of care staff, working within a team to deliver needs based care. To encourage and promote openness and a learning environment for all staff. To be the lead figure on shift in the provision of quality care to residents by all care team staff.

Patient Care:

  • Be responsible for the co-ordination, assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individual Patient programs of care. With a focus on risk assessment and risk management strategies, ensuring that the requirements of the Care Program Approach are met in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that all Staff contribute to the efficient running of the Home and the creation of an atmosphere conducive to the best interests of the residents.
  • Report any ill health amongst residents and make requests for GP visits where necessary.
  • To support empowerment of residents having regard for their dignity, rights and advice, whilst maintaining professional responsibility for individuals in our care.
  • Ensure that individual care plans are completed and maintained in conjunction with residents, Relatives and other Health Care Professionals, and in accordance with NMC guidelines.
  • To participate in the planning, delivery and evaluation of specific therapeutic interventions.
  • Assess residents in all aspects of their care needs to provide health supervision and attention through direct Nursing Care when needed.
  • Assist social and health care needs of new residents to maintain on-going assessment and review of all other Patients.
  • Carry out regular checks on residents at intervals determined by the Matron.
  • To support the development of the process and practices of Active Care, Recovery and rehabilitation.
  • Administer prescribed medicines and document the same in accordance with The Geoghegan Group procedure and Healthcare Commission guidelines.

Essential skills, qualifications and experience:

A degree in Nursing, or equivalent if trained overseas

Registration with the NMC, or registration with equivalent body in home country if trained overseas

Experience of working in a nursing home

Understanding of the latest nursing practices.
